On February 26, 2026, China’s National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) released the Draft Amendments to the Measures for the Administration of Patent Priority Examination for comment. The current Measures for the Administration of Patent Priority Examination has been in effect since August 1, 2017 with over 720,000 patent applications receiving priority examination during the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-2025).  The Draft revises 14 articles and adds 9 new articles.
