2025 Legislative Plan Considering IP-related Laws and Regulations
On May 14, 2025, China’s State Council released their 2025 Legislative Plan including considering several IP-related laws and regulations. Specifically, “In terms of implementing the strategy of rejuvenating the country through science and education and building a socialist cultural power, the draft amendment to the Trademark Law will be submitted to the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress for deliberation… and the regulations on the protection of new plant varieties will be revised… The implementing regulations of the Copyright Law, the collective management regulations of copyright, the Internet Information Service Management Measures, the implementation regulations of the Cultural Relics Protection Law, and the integrated circuit layout design protection regulations … will be revised. Legislation work on the healthy development of artificial intelligence will be promoted.”
